Free Software Office (OSL)
The Free Software Office of the UDC is started by the White Book for the usage of Free Software in teaching, investigation and administration of the University of A Coruña, which was made public officially in April 2006 and was approved in the session of the Government Council of December 14th 2006.
During the years 2008 and 2009, the Free Software Office of the UDC has the collaboration of the "Consellería de Innovación e Industria" through an agreement signed between the three galician universities and the 'consellería' itself through the "Dirección Xeral de Promoción Industrial e da Sociedade da Información".
Vision
The main goal of the Free Software Office (OSL) of the University of A Coruña (UDC) is spread and promote usage of free software at the universitary community, and the society in general. We also promote the aggregation and coordination of joint efforts of the universities, institutions and companies in order to develop the strategic plan of free software in the UDC and the universitary community.
Statement

- Improve the implication of the University of A Coruña on the capacitation of its members, in a society based upon a knowledge base which makes possible the technologic innovation.

- Improve the ways of collaboration between universities, institutions and companies around us, in order to make possible joint deployments and developments, by sharing efforts and experience.
- Integration
- Integrate assistive technologies and user interfaces in the solutions used by organizations due to their features of adaptability and accessibility.
- Technologic Independece
- Improve the technologic independence, protecting investments by rationalizing costs and interoperability of computer systems, in order to make the UDC a reference for the advance of the information and knowledge society.
- Linguistic Normalization
- Improve the linguistic normalization in computer applications.
