Services
The Free Software Office (OSL) offers the following services to the user community, developers and to working groups of the University with interest in free software:
- Advices
- The Free Software Office offers to the university community and the general public a new advisory service on free software. The aim of this is to make more accessible and known free software, and resolve any doubts that may be on its use.
- FTP Mirror
- The OSL has an FTP server running ftp.udc.es over a network link with a bandwidth of 1Gbps thanks to the connection of the UDC to RedIRIS. A set of mirrors of GNU/Linux and other software which can be useful to the Red de Ciencia y Tecnología de Galicia (RECETGA, Network of Science and Technology of Galicia, publicly available.
- Formation
- The Office of Free Software from the University of Coruña taught several courses and workshops throughout the year, both for members of the University of La Coruña and for anyone interested in free software (installation, configuration, etc. of a GNU/Linux operating system) and the learning of their most used applications.
